Just as Mi 11 has finally arrived in the markets, it looks like Xiaomi’s Mi 12 is under development. According to a report courtesy of noted Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, the smartphone may feature a 200MP main camera at its rear. Moreover, this 200-MP camera sensor has surfaced online for quite some time now. Although this is the first time we hearing of it coming on this particular smartphone.

Meanwhile, earlier leaks have suggested that Samsung is indeed manufacturing a 200MP ISOCELL camera sensor for smartphones. Now, a new report suggests that Xiaomi Mi 12 may feature this sensor. In addition, it may also even borrow into a potential Samsung and Olympus partnership for its rear camera unit.

200MP Samsung-Olympus Primary Camera on Mi 12: Leaks
According to Digital Chat Station’s post on Weibo, he reports about the key features of an upcoming flagship phone. It may be featuring the next generation Snapdragon flagship with sm8450 part number. This chip is tentatively famous as the Snapdragon 895 chip by the rumor mill. He also suggests that the new device will be sporting a punch-hole display with curved edges.
Furthermore, he also adds that Mi 12 will come with a 200-MP lens as the primary camera. Previous reports have suggested that it could be featuring Samsung’s upcoming 200-MP sensor. It is unclear whether this phone belongs to the exiting Mi 12 series or some other series.

Meanwhile, other reports suggest that the 200-megapixel ISOCELL sensor may measure 1/1.37-inch and it has 1.28-micron pixels. It could come with 4-in-1 and 16-in-1 pixel binning technology. Moreover, it may allow users to record 16K videos for the possible Mi 12 series. Plus, reports of the Xiaomi Mi 12 featuring the upcoming Snapdragon SM8450 aren’t new. We will have to wait and see what gets confirmed as leaks start surfacing online.
