Apple is reportedly planning to include a USB Type-C port on future iPhone models. The Cupertino-based company is planning to replace the old Lightning charging port on handsets with USB Type-C. However, the change may not be implementing until 2023. Apple’s MacBook and iPad models currently have a USB Type-C port. The tech titan is to be working on an adapter that will be allowing future iPhones to work with current Lightning connector accessories.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Company is working on changing the charging port on the iPhone. The company is testing new iPhones and adapters with USB Type-C connectivity. According to the report, Apple is likely to keep the Lightning connector in this year’s new models, and the transition ‘wouldn’t happen until 2023 at the earliest.’
Apple’s iPad Pro, iPad Air, and iPad Mini currently support USB Type-C connectivity. While accessories such as AirPods and the Apple TV remote use the Lightning connector.
