Apple is gearing up to launch its flagship iPhone 15 series at its September 12 Wonderlust event. There will be four iPhone models, including the Apple iPhone 15 Ultra, which could replace the Pro Max model. A new leak has revealed the camera specifications of the iPhone 15 series ahead of the launch.
iPhone 15 Series Camera Specifications Leaked
The Apple iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus camera leak suggests it could feature a new 48-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.6 aperture. This Sony sensor will be a major upgrade over the 12-megapixel primary sensor on the Apple iPhone 14. It will allow photos to have more detail and higher resolution output. In addition, there is also a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens with an f/.2.4 aperture, the same as last year.

On the other hand, the Apple iPhone 15 Pro will have a 48-megapixel Sony IMX-803 sensor with an f/1.78 aperture. In addition, there is a 12.7-megapixel telephoto lens with f/2.8 aperture and a 13.4-megapixel ultrawide with f./2.2 aperture. The primary camera will remain the same as the Apple iPhone 14 Pro, while the ultrawide and telephoto have been upgraded.
iPhone 15 Pro Max To Get A New Periscope Lens
Last but not least is the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max, which will feature a brand-new periscope lens for the telephoto sensor. It will be a 12.7-megapixel periscope lens with a f/2.8 aperture and can support up to 10x optical zoom. The main and the ultrawide sensors will be the same as the Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max at 48-megapixel and 13.4-megapixels, respectively.

The periscope lens will remain exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro Max due to the large size of the sensor. The size of the camera module has increased to add the periscope lens, and Apple has shifted the other components in the mid-frame. The Apple iPhone 16 Pro and Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max will be much bigger to accommodate the periscope lens at 6.3-inches and 6.9-inches, respectively.
The new iPhone 15 models will switch to USB-Type C and use a more premium titanium chassis. They will include a new action button and will be $100-$200 more expensive than the outgoing models. The made-in-India iPhone 15 models will roll out simultaneously as the global units for the first time.
