Honor Magic V2 Launched Globally As World’s Slimmest Folding Phone

Honor has launched a new foldable phone called the Honor Magic V2 at the IFA in Berlin. This phone was exclusively available in the Chinese market and has now made its global debut. The company also released the Honor V Purse, a foldable phone that looks similar to a purse.

Honour claims the Magic V2 is the slimmest folding phone at 9.9m when folded and 4.7mm when unfolded. It weighs just 231 grams, making it similar to a typical smartphone.

Honor Magic V2 Specifications

The Honor Magic V2 features a 6.43-inch cover OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2376×1060 pixels. Inside, you will find a large 7.92-inch inner OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2344×2156 pixels. Both displays offer 3840Hz PWM dimming, 2nd generation Nano Crystal glass for protection and LTPO support.

The phone packs the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset paired with 16GB of RAM. It runs on Magic OS 7.2, based on Android 13 and comes in three variants with 256GB,512GB and 1TB of storage. Furthermore, it has an “Ultra-thin Bionic Cooling System” with a heat dissipation area of 29000mm².

For photography, it has a triple camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor, 50-megapixel ultrawide lens and 20-megapixel telephoto camera. You get a 16-megapixel selfie camera with 4K video recording support on both displays.

All of this is backed by a 5,000mAh battery supporting Honor 66W SuperCharge.You get WiFi, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC and USB Type-C on the connectivity front.

Honor Magic V2 Pricing And Availability

The Magic V2 will go on sale in the UK and some parts of Europe; however, the company has not announced the date or pricing yet. The Honor Magic V2 launched in China for a price of 8,999 Yuan (around Rs.1,02,00), so we can expect a similar pricing elsewhere.

Honor CEO has hinted that the global pricing of the device will be similar to the international pricing of the Magic Vs, which starts at 1,599 Euros (around Rs.1,42,000). This would make it cheaper than the EU pricing of the Google Pixel Fold and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5. The phone is available in Purple, Black, Black (PU) and Gold. There is also an Ultimate edition of the folding phone with a black leather finish and golden accents.
