Earlier this week Apple sent out invites under the tagline ‘Spring Loaded’, an online event streaming at 10 am PT on Tuesday, April 20. The event is assumed to be a virtual function due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. Just like the earlier events, the upcoming Spring event will be streamed live on YouTube and the Apple website.

This event is puzzling, and we expect iPads will figure prominently. The much-rumoured tracking device dubbed AirTags, a new Apple Pencil, and a new generation Apple TV at the event are expected.
New iPad Pro 2021 With Mini LED Display
The company could uncover a new line-up of iPad Pros at the event. As per information, the iPad Pros coming this year will look similar to last year’s models and will come in two alternatives – an 11-inch screen and a 12.9-inch screen. It is suggested that the bigger model of the two could come with Apple’s first mini LED display. The new iPad Pro will have an A14X processor. It will be the same as the M1 in Apple Silicon Macs: an A14 with double the number of high-performance CPU cores and GPU cores, which is insanely fast. Other changes that are expected to improve are the camera module that is the same as the one in the iPhone 12 Pro, 5G connectivity in the cellular models and thunderbolt support.
Apple Pencil
As various readers pointed out, the Spring Loaded invitation was surely drawn towards an iPad using an Apple Pencil, but the question is, which Apple Pencil? The most advanced version of the Apple Pencil was released in 2018, but all it added was a new wireless charging method. Otherwise, it is essentially the same as the first-gen (which Apple still sells). Apple pencil might have a glossy finish, but it seems that Apple could use the Spring Loaded event to launch the new model. People expect it will bring new serviceability and better accuracy, to take benefit of the new iPad Pro display.
AirTags
As we expect, Apple’s announcement links strongly to its “Find My” network feature for Apple devices to a third party. Which is another signal that AirTags could be about to arrive. But, the third party method could mean that there is minimal use of its feature. Because if third parties can use Find My, why would you require or need to use AirTags?
It remains to be seen what exactly Apple has in mind, so make sure to tune in on the day of the event.
