  • Tech enthusiasts and smartphone fans are eagerly awaiting the launch of the Google Pixel 8, which will likely be the successor to the Google Pixel 7. According to recent leaks by tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro could be unveiled later this year. Additionally, the design renders for both phones have also surfaced online. The renders give us a sneak peek into the design and some of the key specifications of the upcoming device.

    Google Pixel 8: Specifications (Expected)

    As per the sources, the Pixel 8 smartphone is to feature rounded corners, a departure from the squared-off design of its predecessor. The handset is also likely to come with a 5.8-inch display with a centre-aligned hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera. On the back, the Pixel 8 features a horizontal camera module, which appears similar to that of the Pixel 7. Moreover, the leaked images suggest that the Pixel 8 will feature a dual-rear camera setup. While the Pixel 8 Pro is tipped to come with a triple rear camera setup that includes a telephoto lens.

    The bottom edge of the Pixel 8 will come with a USB Type-C port and a speaker grille. While the right side will have the volume and power buttons. According to Hemmerstoffer, the Pixel 8 will measure 150.5 x 70.8 x 8.9mm. While the depth including the camera module will be 12mm.

    While Google has not revealed any details about the hardware specifications of the Pixel 8 series, it is expected that the devices will feature the company’s next-generation Tensor SoC, which is being developed in collaboration with Samsung.

    In addition to the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, Google will likely be launching a more affordable Google Pixel 7a at its upcoming Google I/O event in May. The event could provide more insight into Google’s plans for the Pixel 8 series of smartphones.
