After its revision in prepaid tariffs, Airtel is trying to soften the sudden move by bringing some additional benefits for some plans. This Friday, it has started giving 500MB of additional data free per day. But it will only cover four of its prepaid recharge plans to cut down the impact of its latest revision. The four plans that are eligible for this extra data freebie include Rs. 265 plan, Rs. 299 plan, Rs. 719 plan and Rs. 839 plan.

To recall, earlier this week, both Vodafone Idea and Airtel raised prices of prepaid tariffs by 20-25 per cent. The companies hope the increase would result in a higher average revenue per user (ARPU).
Airtel Giving 500MB Free Data Per Day
Now, following this update, Airtel’s 28-day Rs. 265 and Rs. 299 plans will effectively offer 1.5GB and 2GB daily data, respectively. Whereas, the Rs. 719 plan will offer 2GB of daily data for 84 days. The 84-day Rs. 839 plan is offering 2.5GB of daily data. To redeem the additional data benefit you have to use the Thanks app, as per the details available on their official site.

It is also important to note that the additional data allocation will be available only during the validity period of the existing Airtel plan. You have to use the data during the existing validity period or it will expire. Similarly, Vi (Vodafone Idea) also earlier this week revised its prepaid plans in India. The revision is aimed to help telcos increase their average revenue per user (ARPU).
