POCO laptop could possibly be in the works
  • In early November, the company executives hinted that they are planning to expand its’ product ecosystem in the coming year. Poco’s head of product marketing, Angus Ng, in an interview revealed that the company could launch some new wearables and AIoT products in 2022. Meanwhile, we are already expecting its POCO Pop Buds TWS and a smartwatch next year. But rumours and talks about a POCO laptop also in the pipeline are also rife.

In a new development, a Redmi G series laptop battery has surfaced online; receiving a certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) with Poco’s branding. This suggests that the Chinese brand might be considering the official launch of its Poco laptop in India. On the other hand, it could just be a Redmi G-series model but with the Poco label.

This information comes from a reliable tipster Mukul Sharma. This could also mean that it hints at an imminent launch of the first-ever Poco’s laptop in the country. In the image, we can see a Redmi G series battery with build number G16B01W on the BIS website under Poco branding. The battery comes with a 3,620mAh capacity which is a 55.02Wh battery unit. Although this battery looks like a replacement battery, the company could very well launch a gaming laptop. But, nothing is confirmed as of now.

Although one should remember this is not the first time such a listing has surfaced online. However, this is the first time something of this sort has surfaced since the company has hinted at its efforts to expand its portfolio to more than smartphones. So, we could possibly be seeing a Poco laptop soon in India. If it is indeed in the works, we will surely find more information soon. But until then we can only assume and wait for more information to pour out.
