The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 impending launch is the most anticipated one this year. The foldable has created a lot of waves in the news online considering its’ leaks and rumors recently. According to various leaks, the launch could happen on August 3rd. However, nothing has been confirmed yet by the company. Moreover, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 is expecting to launch along with it as well. The devices will reportedly go on sale from August 27.

Now, in a recent development, both these devices just passed by the FCC – suggesting that a launch can’t be far away now. The US variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 (SM-F926U and SM-F926U1) received the FCC certification. Moreover, the listing reveals a great deal of information and confirms some of the rumors. Let’s take a look at the details from the FCC documents for the device.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 FCC listing Reveals S-Pen Support
The FCC listing reveals the model number SM-F926U which is surfacing on other certification sites as well. It also reveals the various connectivity options and bands that the device will support. The images also confirm that the foldable device will come with S-Pen and ultra-wideband (UWB) support. UWB is a short-range wireless communication protocol that determines the location of other UWB devices accurately to transfer data at a much higher frequency while consuming less power.

To recall, the previous foldables did not get S-pen support which is, however, exclusive to the Note series previously. Moreover, the brand also introduced the S-pen to the S21 series this year. Now, it is likely that Galaxy Z Fold 3 will get S Pen support for the missing Note 21 series. Following the FCC listing, we can expect an imminent launch of the upcoming Samsung smartphone.

Additionally, Galaxy Z Fold 3 will support multiple 5G NR bands. These include the n2, n5, n12, n25, n30, n41, n66, n71, n77, n78, n260, n261 bands. It will come with 9W wireless charging support, as per the listing. The FCC listing also reveals the device’s battery models. In addition, it will also have will have EB-BF926ABY, EB-BF927ABY batteries. Both models come with 2,060mAh and 2,215mAh capacity, which when combined will offer a 4,275 mAh cell. The device will also support 25W fast charging. Samsung is likely to ship a 25W fast charging adapter (EP-TA800) in the box.
In terms of specs, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 can come with a smaller gap between the two displays than its predecessor. Moreover, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will also reportedly come in green, black, and silver color options. Although these are just speculations at this point – no confirmed reports. On the processor front, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. The flagship processor will be able to handle anything the user throws at it. From seamless multitasking to intense gaming sessions, the processor will knock everything right out of the park.
