Google recently launched the Pixel 8 series with a heavy emphasis on AI features. The phones come packed with many new features thanks to the new Tensor G3 chipset. One such new feature is the ability to create AI wallpapers, which is currently exclusive to the Pixel 8 series. The Google Pixel 8 and Google Pixel 8 Pro are now available for purchase in India on Flipkart.
How To Create AI Wallpapers On Pixel 8
The new AI wallpapers on Pixel 8 utilize Google’s text-to-diffusion model to create a unique wallpaper based on your input. While this feature is currently exclusive to the Pixel 8 series, it will be eventually available for all phones running on Android 14.

To use the feature, touch and hold anywhere on your home screen to summon the customization menu. Click on Wallpaper & Style and tap the “More Wallpapers” option. In the Create Wallpaper menu, choose the “AI Wallpapers” option to begin.

Here, you will find plenty of different themes like Soft Focus, Mood, Dark theme, Drawing, etc for guidance. Choose any of the themes of your choice, and you will see a pre-generated prompt describing the image.
You can tap on these words to create an entirely different wallpaper from the one shown on your screen. As a result, you can create infinite wallpapers each time by playing around with these prompts. Once you feel satisfied with your creation, tap the tick button in the top right corner to save it.
Next, you can choose whether to apply your AI wallpaper on your Home screen or both on your Home and Lock screens. It will show you a preview of how the wallpaper looks on both, and then you can click on the Set Wallpaper button in the top right corner to finalize your new creation.

The new AI wallpaper requires a lot of computing power, which could be why Google is currently limiting it to the Pixel 8 series with the new Tensor G3 chip. However, it will eventually be available for all phones as the image is created on Google servers and downloaded onto your device. Do note that you need an active internet connection to use the feature.
