Earlier this year, Xiaomi’s gaming phone company launched it’s latest offering Black Shark. However, just a little has passed, the company is already working on its successor – Black Shark 5. According to a new leak, the upcoming Black Shark phone will launch with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 888+ SoC. This SoC is right now on the new Mi Mix 4 and the Honor Magic 3 series.

Black Shark 5 specs tipped
Ahead of the launch, the specs and key details of the upcoming flagship gaming phone have leaked. Moreover, the tipster Digital Chat Station states that the upcoming flagship will have the model number KTUS-A0. It will come with a Snapdragon 888+ SoC under the hood. The SoC’s prime core CPU gets a boost to 2.995GHz, compared to 2.84GHz on the SD888 SoC. It also gets a 20 per cent improvement in AI performance over the SD888 SoC.

Furthermore, he notes that the phone might support 100W fast charging. To compare, the Black Shark 4 series supports 120W fast charging. We can expect its successor Black Shark 5 to also support 120W fast charging out of the box. Meanwhile, other details of the upcoming Black Shark phones are not out yet.

On the other hand, the company has not given any official confirmation on Black Shark 5. There is not even a teaser available right now online. We can only speculate until something more solid materializes hinting us at a direction.
