A report by Daily Mail has confirmed that removing chargers and EarPods from their iPhone boxes has helped the company save up about $6.5 billion. This step has also helped the company reduce its yearly carbon emissions by 2 million metric tons. According to company claims, this value is equivalent to around 500,000 cars off the road.
This omission has helped the company compensate for the 5G modems in iPhone 12 and successors. Furthermore, without the chargers and EarPods, the size of the iPhone boxes have reduced significantly, allowing more iPhones to be shipped in the same shipping container. This has also reduced the amount of material like paper and cardboard used, contributing to the company’s savings.
