Amazon Alexa New Feature: What More?
  • Amazon has now brought an update for its voice assistant, Alexa. Amazon Alexa can now allow users to move their music, podcasts and more from one Echo device to another. In addition, users can also ask the voice assistant to pause their music on one Echo device while asking them resume it on another. This feature will definitely change the overall user experience on Amazon Echo devices.

The good news is, this is not limited to Echo devices. Amazon’s Echo Buds TWS earbuds, Echo Auto and more come with support for this feature. However, that is not all. Users get another interesting feature upon updating their Amazon Alexa. This is the ability to watch TikTok videos on Fire TV devices.

Amazon Alexa Move Audio Feature: How to Use?

Now, in order to use the brand new feature by Amazon, users just have to use voice commands. Here is a step-by-step guide for the same:

Step 1: Use the “Alexa, pause” voice command on one Echo device.

Step 2: Now, head over to your second Echo device and say, “Alexa, resume music here.”

Step 3: This applies to radio and podcast as well. Just use the “Alexa, resume podcast here” or “Alexa, resume radio here” to move your audio in the same way.

In the exact same way, you can also use voice commands to make Amazon Alexa shift your audio tracks from one room to another. For example, if you want to move your audio to the Echo device placed in your kitchen, just say, “Alexa, move my music to the Kitchen.” Alexa will immediately recognise the command and do so accordingly.

If you are both an Echo speaker and Echo Buds user, you can move music between these two devices as well. All you have to do is connect your Echo Buds and just say, “Alexa, move my music here”. Similarly, you can use the new feature on your Echo Auto device as well. If you are listening to music at your home and you are heading out, just say, “Alexa, pause” to the home device. Now, head inside your car and say, “Alexa, resume music” and it shall do so on your Echo Auto device in the car.

    Amazon Alexa Functionality

On top of all this, Amazon and Netflix have joined hands to bring a new and useful feature as well. Amazon Fire TV users can now say, “Alexa, Play (any movie or series name) on Netflix”. This will immediately allow Alexa to play the desired TV show or movie. Users can also say, “Alexa, play something on Netflix”. This plays content on a random basis.

In addition, Amazon Alexa now allows users to also watch TikTok videos on their Fire TVs. All users have to do is say, “Alexa, play TikTok” and it starts playing TikTok videos. It is good to see both Netflix and TikTok TV app get support with the Amazon Alexa.

However, these features are currently limited to users in the U.S and Canada. Nothing has been revealed about the feature arriving to India or other markets as of now. Neither has Amazon said anything about the Alexa moving audio feature support for third-party Alexa devices.
