OnePlus Nord is creating a name for itself for its premium-like specs and value-for-money tag. But, along with it came to the speculations whether it will kill OnePlus’s flagship or not?
When we think of OnePlus smartphones, we just know it’s’ going to be the best in the market. The same happened when it launched its flagship OnePlus 8. It sold like hotcakes and created a new high for the company. Shortly, the company re-entered into the budget smartphone field with the launch of OnePlus Nord this July. Again, the company did not disappoint with its specs and even raised a few eyebrows.

With most of the specs available in Nord matching OnePlus 8, many are left wondering what will happen to the latter’s sale?
One gets a similar experience with a price difference of nearly Rs. 17,000 from Nord. Although, OnePlus 8 has some great additions in its specs namely, the more powerful octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC. OnePlus 8 also packs a 4,300mAh battery that supports Warp Charge 30T. With great camera optics in 8, it does give you an experience with a starting price tag of Rs. 54,999. Many other phones, in this premium segment, costs much more than OnePlus charges.
OnePlus Nord, however, gives us a better selfie camera, which shoots 4K video, something the OnePlus 8 can’t do. Nord features a 90Hz AMOLED display with the same resolution, and both have similar-sized batteries with fast charging options.
Is it really?
One can say that they get a premium-like experience and premium experience with these variants. OnePlus is expanding its customer base in the Indian market with Nord.
With both the phones, having its own set of advantages, they cater to different kinds of customers at the same time. One should also realize that OnePlus always brings forth even more updated specs in their premium phones. The ‘T series’ of their premium models, we get small but meaningful changes or sometimes complete overhauls.

So we cannot exactly say OnePlus Nord is a flagship killer but it has given OnePlus a challenge to face with its new launches in the future.
There are not many leaks around the OnePlus 8T yet. But chances or rumors are that it is likely to come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865+ SoC.
