As the pre-owned smartphone market continues growing, we at Cashify did some digging around of our own. In order to understand the market, brands, user behaviour and patterns, Cashify conducted a study encompassing the second hand smartphone market in India in 2019. Through the course of this research we succeeded in unveiling some rare insights including which city’s dwellers break their smartphone screens the most. Xiaomi came out on top when we weighed the brand share in the second hand smartphones sold the most by users. Coming on a close second was the South Korean OEM Samsung. Coming to smartphone models which the users sold the most after having used them for some time, the device models Redmi Note 4 and iPhone 6 ranked first and second respectively.
Coming back to people breaking their smartphone screens, our study found that people in Delhi crack their smartphone screens the most among all the metro cities in India. Second on this list were the residents of Bengaluru. That’s not all, we also found out which city has the maximum number of people telling the accurate condition of their phones while putting them up for sale online.
