Redmi Watch Design and Build
The Xiaomi Redmi Watch features a square shaped design, but it does not stand out among other smartwatches at this price point because many of them have similar designs. The smartwatch has a body made of plastic with a matte finish. The corners of the case are rounded, but the frames are completely flat.
The plastic build makes the watch light and comfortable to wear all day. In addition, the TPU strap that comes with the watch is both comfortable and stylish. In addition to being lightweight, the straps are made of high-quality silicone and are extremely durable.

The heart rate sensor and magnetic charging port are located on the backside of the watch. On the right, there is a single button, while the rest of the sides are clean.
The watch is approximately 10.9mm thick and weighs about 35 grams. The smartwatch is water-resistant to 5 ATM, which means you can wear it while working out and even while swimming in an open pool.
I liked the overall look of the watch and found it to be very comfy to wear for long periods of time.
Redmi Watch Battery and Charging
The Redmi Watch comes equipped with a 230mAh battery, which, according to the company, can survive up to 10 days on a single charge. I was able to get a battery life of 7 days with continuous notifications and heart rate monitoring, which is not exactly what Redmi claims.
With my heavy use of constant heart rate monitoring, high brightness and daily GPS usage, the watch lasted for about 5 days. It’s not bad considering the price of the smartwatch.

When it comes to charging, the Redmi Watch arrives with a magnetic charger that fully charges the watch in less than two hours. Not just this, there is a unique screen feature that comes into play while charging, which displays the time as well as the remaining battery in a large font.
This mode is somewhat ineffective because there is no always-on display, and the only way to see it is to hit the button on the side of the device every time.
Redmi Watch Display
The Redmi Watch features a 1.4-inch TFT LCD display that has a brightness of 350 nits. It has a layer of 2.5D glass coating that also protects the display against scratches. Additionally, the display has significant bezels surrounding it on every side.
Even though the things on the display are pretty clear, the colours and sharpness aren’t that great. The touchscreen works well, and there aren’t any noticeable hitches when navigating.
The outdoor visibility in sunlight is good. Within the Settings, you have the option to change the brightness from level 1 all the way up to level 6. The Redmi Watch does not have an Always-on-Display feature, but it does have “Wake for 5 mins,” which keeps the smartwatch on for a full five minutes. In addition, there is a raise to wake feature which is a hit or miss.

There are more than 200 watch faces available in the Mi Wear app for the Redmi Watch. Not to forget, you also get an auto-brightness feature in the watch, which is uncommon on a smartwatch at this price point.
Redmi Watch Fitness and Health Features
Let’s take a closer look at one of the most important reasons for purchasing a smartwatch at this price point. The Redmi Watch has 11 sports modes, which looks to be a lot less than some of its competitors.
Starting with tracking workouts, the wearable can be used to monitor and record activities such as outdoor running, indoor cycling, outdoor cycling, trail running, walking, trekking, running on a treadmill, open water swimming, cricket, open water swimming, pool swimming, and freestyle swimming.
Aside from that, the main and most influential feature of the Redmi Watch is the built-in GPS, which enables you to record your walks and run without requiring you to carry your smartphone in your pocket. You to monitor your heart rate and calories burned while doing these activities.

The watch is only able to automatically count your steps; it is unable to detect a workout; therefore, you will need to manually activate it in order for it to work. You also get a heart rate monitor on the watch. Although the watch does not offer continuous heart rate monitoring, you have the option to track your HR at a fixed set of intervals.
As far as I could notice, the heart rate monitoring and the steps tracking were both pretty much accurate. One thing that disappointed me was the lack of SpO2 monitoring.
Redmi Watch Software and UI
You can pair the Redmi Watch with both Android and iOS devices. All you’ll need would be the Xiaomi Wear app on your phone. This smartwatch is easy to pair and continues to maintain a stable connection with the phone.
The Xiaomi Waer app is simple to use and allows you to tweak some of the watch’s settings. You can choose among various options and change the watchface. You can also choose which mobile applications can send you notifications on your watch.
The watch can store up to five watchfaces, and you can simply long-press on the existing one to switch between them. You’ll need to have the Xiaomi Wear app to add new watchefaces to your Redmi Watch.

The smartwatch can also display weather information. You can also use it to find things on your paired smartphone, set alarms, get message and call notifications, and control music. However, there is no way to reply to the notifications, and neither can calls be answered using the watch.
You can select the intensity of vibration, set DND schedules, and time intervals for heart rate monitoring from the settings menu.
The Redmi Watch is a stylish, well-designed wearable device with good material and finish quality. The software is also straightforward and easy to use, and it comes packaged with a wide range of watch faces to select from. The step tracking that Xiaomi offers is also very accurate.
It has 5ATM water resistance and long battery life, making it ideal for tracking outdoor activities.
The Redmi Watch costs Rs 3,999 in India and comes with a limited one-year warranty. At that price tag, this is likely the least expensive fitness watch with a built-in GPS, so if that is your primary requirement, this is a great choice.
