South Korean tech giant, Samsung has just announced its new cheapest smartphone – Galaxy A42 5G. However, they have not disclosed the full specifications and price of the phone yet.

It comes as the latest addition to the company’s A-series lineup. The company is announcing it as part of Samsung’s ‘Life Unstoppable’ virtual event. Meanwhile, Samsung shared images of the phone along with a few of its specs.
These official renders show Galaxy A42 5G sporting a waterdrop-like notch on the front. The rear panel houses a square-like camera module. The LED flash sits outside the module. The back panel is rather unique with four color texture.

Moreover, reports say Galaxy A42 5G will sport a 48-MP main sensor on the back. The setup will also feature a 5-megapixel depth sensor. It is said to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 690 processor with at least 4GB of RAM. The phone is likely to have a 5,000mAh battery.
Samsung might offer Galaxy A42 5G in 64GB and 128GB variants.

On the other hand, it is replacing Galaxy A51 5G as the cheapest Samsung 5G phone.
Galaxy A51 5G features a 6.5-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with an Infinity-O cutout. It runs on an octa-core processor with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB storage. It also has four rear cameras including a 48-megapixel primary sensor. The phone runs on a 4,500mAh battery.
However, the design of the two models looks quite similar and it is likely that Samsung brings over some of the specs to the newly-announced Galaxy A42 5G.
Samsung has also unveiled a Wireless Charger Trio which can power as many as three devices simultaneously. The new Wireless Charger Trio will go on sale very soon. According to Sammobile, it’s going to cost 99 euro ( ₹8,500 approximately).
