Vivo X200 Pro Design And Build

The Vivo X200 Pro has a familiar design with a large circular camera module on the back surrounded by a massive ring apart from a Vivo branding at the bottom. The phone has a premium glass back and is available in various colours. I have the Sapphire Blue version of the Vivo X200 Pro for review.

Although the curvature is less prominent compared to the Vivo X100 Pro, the Vivo X200 Pro has a metallic finish on the side, giving it a reinforced look and the phone is also IP68+IP69 certified so you don’t have to worry about occasional splashes.

Coming to ports and placements, the phone has the volume rocker and the power button on the right. The left remains clean, while the top has the IR blaster. On the bottom, you get the USB-C port apart from the speaker grille and SIM tray.

Vivo X200 Pro Camera

The Vivo X200 Pro boasts a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto sensor with 3.7x optical zoom and a 50-megapixel ultrawide angle sensor. On the front, there is a 50-megapixel selfie camera.

During the day, the 50-megapixel LYT-808 can take amazing shots with plenty of detail. Compared to the 1-inch sensor from last year, the company has opted for a smaller 1/1.28-inch one that is great in both daylight and low-light scenarios.

The 200-megapixel telephoto is a new addition that the X200 Pro has borrowed from the X100 Ultra. You get up to 3.7x optical zoom, although I would have preferred at least a 5x one. It is perfect for taking portrait shots and capturing subjects from a distance.

Vivo X200 Pro Camera Photography Modes

The 50-megapixel ultrawide angle sensor maintains the same colour science consistency as the main lens, but the image quality isn’t on par with the other two sensors. The phone can shoot videos in 4K at 120 FPS, which is a delight for content creators.

In low-light scenarios, they can take amazing shots with plenty of detail and contrast. The details are comparable to an entry-level DSLR camera.

The 32-megapixel selfie camera can take great photos with natural skin tones and details typical of a Vivo phone. Overall, I was impressed with the camera performance of the Vivo X200 Pro during my review.

Vivo X200 Pro Battery And Charging

The Vivo X200 Pro packs a massive 6,000mAh battery, one of the largest ever on a flagship, and it can easily last two days on a single charge during my review. Thanks to the new Silicon Carbide battery technology, Vivo has managed to fit in a higher capacity while maintaining its sleek and thin design.

To compliment the big battery, there is 90W wired and 30W wireless charging support. The X200 Pro sure packs enough firepower to be worthy of the Pro moniker. MediaTek chipsets are known for their battery efficiency, so you can expect a relatively long battery life.

Vivo X200 Pro Display

The Vivo X200 Pro sports a 6.78-inch quad curved 1.5K OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Furthermore, the phone has relatively slim bezels with curved corners on all four sides.

Thanks to the 4500 nits of peak brightness, it is easily viewable under bright sunlight, and I had no trouble using the phone outdoors. Navigating the user interface also feels fluid, thanks to the 120Hz refresh rate.

This 10-bit LTPS panel comes with HDR 10+ support and is perfect for consuming content. You also get an optical fingerprint sensor underneath for security. I enjoyed watching content on the Vivo X200 Pro during my review period.

Vivo X200 Pro Performance

The Vivo X200 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset paired with up to 16GB of RAM. It is the first phone to use this 3nm chipset, and it is currently one of the most powerful phones available in the market.

The phone runs on FunTouch OS 14 based on Android 14 and comes with up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The Vivo X200 Pro remained smooth during day-to-day tasks such as opening apps and multitasking, and I faced no lags or stutters.

Vivo X200 Pro Gaming Review

The MediaTek Dimensity 9400 can easily play any game in the highest possible settings, and I had no trouble running Genshin Impact maxed out at 60 FPS. I also did not notice any significant heating issues during my gaming experience.

Regarding benchmarks, the phone undoubtedly offers chart-topping performance with an AnTuTu score of 2913631. It can also run League of Legends at 120 FPS.

Given the phone’s high-end specifications, it is no surprise that the Vivo X200 Pro offers the Pro level of performance, which I thoroughly enjoyed during my review.

Vivo X200 Pro Software And UI

The Vivo X200 Pro ships with OriginOS 5 since this is the Chinese version of the phone, although global users can expect the familiar FunTouch OS 14. There are plenty of useful features, and the overall experience feels smooth.

Some of the new features include Origin Island, which works similarly to Dynamic Island on iPhones, and a Vivo’s take on Circle To Search. It also has all the AI features, although they are only limited to China, as you would expect.

However, when the phone eventually launches in India, it will ship with FunTouch OS 14. FunTouch OS 14 is an incremental upgrade that will roll out later this year to existing Vivo phones. We can only hope the company does not bundle any bloatware or annoying notifications in the global unit.

Verdict

The Vivo X200 Pro brings major improvements over its predecessor in terms of design, camera, processing power and battery life. It is a phone that deserves the “Pro” moniker in its name and is unparalleled in terms of camera performance thanks to the new 200-megapixel telephoto lens.

If you want a Vivo phone that does not compromise in any segment, then consider buying the Vivo X200 Pro. Those looking for a smaller form factor can take a look at the Vivo X200 Pro mini, which offers similar features albeit in a much more compact frame.
