Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus Design and Build
Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus brings a fresh design which looks very classy and premium at the first glance. For starters, the camera island is gone and now all three lenses at the back are sticking out individually.
It’s fully flat on both the front and back side which makes it look very sleek. Protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2, which makes it the first phone to do so along with aluminium frames make it really sturdy and well built.

On top of that, the all-new S23 plus is available in a bunch of colour options: black, cream, green, lavender and more. The comes with an IP68 rating which protects it from water and dust. All in all, it’s a pretty durable as well as premium looking phone.
The right side has power buttons along with volume buttons. The bottom side holds the type-C port, SIM card slot, mic and loudspeaker.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus Camera
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus has the exact same back camera setup as the last year. It features a triple camera on the back including a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide lens and a 10MP telephoto lens. The only upgrade is on the front side which has the new 12MP selfie camera.
Even though it’s the same camera hardware as last year, the phone manages to take really impressive shots. The main camera takes some really good shots in different lighting conditions. Be it the details or colour accuracy, everything is captured well.
The photos I took came out vibrant and pleasing to the eye. The portrait shots were also great. Edge detection was on point and the background blur looked natural.

The ultra-wide lens takes nice shots in daylight conditions. The images had good detailing and the colours looked true to life.
The front camera surely takes better selfies than S22 Plus. The selfies I took were sharp and detailed. The skin tones looked very natural and the rest of the frame was vibrant.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus Battery and Charging
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus packs a bigger 4700mAh battery this year compared to the 4500mAh last year. Thanks to this minor upgrade and power-efficient chip, we get a better battery backup in everyday usage.
It easily lasts a whole day of casual usage. And if you are a light user who just makes a few calls, texts and scrolls, you might be able to push it till the next evening. I got about 5-6 hours of screen on time which is decent.

While the battery backup gets a bump, the charging speed remains the same. The S23 Plus comes with 45W fast charging support which takes about an hour to fully charge the phone. Sadly you don’t get the charger in the box. It also supports 15W wireless charging.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus Display
Samsung phones are one of the best when it comes to display experience, especially the flagship ones. And the same goes for the S23 Plus. It has a beautiful FHD+ 6.6 inches AMOLED display which features a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,750 nits.
While it’s exactly the same as last year, the maximum brightness has been pumped up. As a result, it’s easy to read contents on the screen even under direct sunlight.

It’s a crisp, vibrant and beautiful display. The viewing angles are also great. Be it watching videos, scrolling or playing games, you get a flagship display experience from it. The 120Hz refresh rate makes everything seamless.
A punch hole cut-out on top with thin bezels all around gives it a premium vibe. Overall, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus provides a really immersive and stunning display experience.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus Performance and Software
Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus packs the latest flagship chipset, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 which is paired with 8GB RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. The S23 Plus is a powerhouse and can handle anything you throw at it.
It runs the everyday tasks with ease. Be it scrolling through Instagram or watching videos on YouTube, everything was smooth. Switching between apps was seamless. The animations were smooth as well.
It really offers the flagship performance, especially while gaming. I tried a couple of heavy games including BGMI and Apex Legends Mobile. Both the games could run at the highest graphic settings. I played for about an hour and did not notice any major lags or frame drops.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus runs on One UI 5.1 skin which is based on the latest Android 13. Samung promises four years of major software updates and five years of security updates. One UI 5.1 offers a smooth and clean UI experience.
You get a bunch of customisation and personalisation options in the UI. You can open any app with the lock screen shortcuts. A long press of the lock screen allows you to change the the look of clock and notification.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus comes with some minor upgrades and a new look. It offers better performance and battery backup than last year. Meanwhile, the display along with the back camera and charging speed remain the same.
You get a clean UI experience with the latest Android 13 version and a bunch of customisation options. It feels and performs like a premium flagship phone like it should. However, all that comes at a hefty price tag.
Overall, it’s a solid premium Android phone however I don’t see it as a worthy upgrade over the S22 Plus with only minor improvements.
