It is now time to have a detailed comparison of the Nothing Phone (2) Vs Apple iPhone 14. Let us now have a look at all the specifications of both smartphones one by one.

Design And Build

Just like the Nothing Phone (1), Nothing Phone (2) also has a very stylish and unique design. The event teaser video by the company suggested that Nothing Phone (2) sports a similar transparent-backed design to that of its predecessor. However, the teaser video also hinted towards two new addition in the back design i.e, a red bit more like a flashing light and a small circle with a latch inside, both towards the top-right corner. It is still not known what these additions are for.

Coming to the Apple iPhone 14, the design is not something new and is basically the carbon copy of iPhone 13’s design, with a notch. The body is made up of aluminium and glass back with IP68 water resistance. The iPhone 14 is available in Midnight, Starlight, Blue, Purple, Red and Yellow.

Display

Nothing has confirmed that the display of the Nothing Phone (2) would be 0.15-inches bigger than that of its predecessor. This means, you can get a 6.7-inches screen size with this smartphone. We have also heard that the Nothing Phone (2) will have a refresh rate of 120Hz, similar to that of the Nothing Phone (1).

Talking about Apple iPhone 14, the screen size is 6.1-inches here and has a Super Retina XDR display. The smartphone definetely remains among one of the best screens in this price range, although the 120Hz refresh rate is missing here. But that does not really make a difference and is hardly noticeable. Be it playing games or watching videos, the Apple iPhone 14 Pro gives an immersive viewing experience.

Performance And Storage

You hardly would have heard about the performance issue of an iPhone. The Apple iPhone 14 features the same A15 bionic chip as the iPhone 13 Pro. That makes the graphics performance level up. Also, the new internal design of the iPhone 14 is optimized for dissipating heat. So, even if you play games for 30 minutes or so continuously, the smartphone won’t heat up.

On the other hand, the Nothing Phone (2) features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor. This processor is said to be the best Qualcomm system-on-chip for Android. The new Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 has up to 30% better CPU & GPU power efficiency than its predecessor. Some of the premium phones, including Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, Asus ROG Phone 6 Pro, ROG Phone 6, iQOO 10 Pro, etc feature this processor.

Talking about the storage capacity, the iPhone 14 comes with 8GB RAM and three storage variants 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. While the Nothing Phone (2) is expected to have 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.

Camera

iPhone’s cameras are unbeatable, and only a few flagship premium-end smartphones can match that level. The Apple iPhone 14 features a dual camera setup with 12-megapixels + 12-megapixels at the rear. The back cameras are simply the best. The ultrawide camera is towards a brighter end with more contrast. The night mode is again excellent and returns a clearer and brighter picture. The zoom capacity is, however, limited to just 5x. Also, the 12-megapixel selfie camera does its job perfectly and offers a detailed image.

Earlier, rumours were doing rounds that Nothing Phone (2) is going to have a new camera lens and sensors on top of the dual camera setup that we had seen in the Nothing Phone (1). Nothing can have better sensors on its secondary cameras this time. However, with the official launch, we can see a 50-megapixel + 50-megapixel camera at the rear. Also, the selfie camera is doubled, i.e., from 16-megapixels to 32-megapixels. The original phone has a selfie camera in the upper left corner of the display. The selfie camera is placed on the top-middle side. We already know that Nothing Phone (1) offered great pictures in both daylight and nightlight, and the same is expected of the Nothing Phone (2).

Battery And Charging

A bigger display means more room for a bigger battery, and hence the Nothing Phone (2) comes with a battery capacity of 4700mAh. We are also hearing that the new phone will double the wattage to a 67W wired charging rate, which should provide a full charge in less than thirty minutes.

The Apple iPhone 14, on the contrary, comes with a 3279mAh battery capacity which is smaller when compared to the Nothing Phone (2). The iPhone 14 sticks with 20W charging which yields 54 per cent charge in 30 minutes. This is, again, poor data when compared to the Nothing Phone (2).

Price

Finally, coming to the price point for the Nothing Phone (2) vs Apple iPhone 14 segment. We already know that the Apple iPhone 14 is priced at Rs. 70,999 for the 128GB variant. The Nothing Phone (2), on the other hand, has been launched at Rs. 44,999. The price is understandably low when compared to the iPhone 14.
