We still have some time before the Nothing Phone 1 launches on July 12, 2022. Although you can wait for the phone’s global release a few weeks later, there’s a chance that you can get the phone much earlier than that. If you’ve been waiting to get your hands on the phone, there’s some good news for you. The company is willing to provide the first 100 units of the phone through an online auction. This auction has opened, and the winners shall be announced soon. This article will give you all the information you need on the Nothing Phone 1 auction.
Let’s get started, shall we?

The first 100 units of the Nothing Phone 1 are being held up for an auction. You can make your bids online, and the highest bidders shall receive the phone. Each of the Nothing Phone 1’s first 100 units will be serialised. Which serial number you get in your phone will be determined through your bid. If your bid is the highest amongst all the bidders, you’ll get the first Nothing Phone 1. Ultimately, if your bid is the 100th highest out of all bidders, you’ll get the final 100th unit of the Nothing Phone 1.

You won’t be charged a single penny if your bid is not among the top 100 bids for the phone. However, if your bid makes it to the top 100, you will be compelled to pay whatever amount you raised for the phone. It’s also worth bearing in mind that the handset will take at least 35 days to arrive at your doorstep. So, although you will get a collector’s item with a serialised handset, you might not get it as early as you expect. It could happen that you might get the phone earlier if you order it online after the handset is officially on sale.
Prices
The bidding war for the phones obviously changes some of the pricing ideas. However, leaks report that the handset will cost between $500 and $600. In Indian Rupees, this could be between INR 39,000 and INR 47,000.
Dates
The auction started on June 21, 2022 at 6:30 PM Indian Standard Time (IST), and will close about 48 hours later, on June 23, 2022. You can bid for the phone on StockX. However, you will have to create an account to place bids on the handset. Nothing’s corresponding DropX page will keep an account of all the bids. You can check the page for more information.

Conclusion
Although we now have some idea about the Nothing Phone 1, it’s pretty difficult to imagine why the company would start a bid on it. After all, the phone hasn’t been released yet. Moreover, there are no expert reviews available on the phone yet. While we know that it has a powerful chipset and LED lights at the back, this may not be enough information for an auction. However, if you want a collector’s item and have the money to spare, you can place your bid at the corresponding site. Hopefully, we’ll get more information about the phone as we get closer to its release date.
