Xiaomi has launched a new 100W wireless charger in China – Mi 100W Wireless Charging Stand. It is identical to the 80W version the company had announced some time back. However, according to Gizmo China, it is a beefed-up version of the former variant that launched at the end of March. Although the differences come in the form of charging speed, colour and safety layer for the two stands.

In terms of pricing, Mi 100W Wireless Charging Stand is priced at 599 Yuan (approximately Rs. 6000). It is only available in China right now. Although we can be hopeful that it will eventually come to India as well.
Mi 100W Wireless Charging Stand Features
The new charger has a maximum output rate of 100W as opposed to 80W on the older charger. However, the two uses the same Mi 120W charger and a 6A USB cable, both of which are included in the box. Mi 100W Wireless Charging Stand are similar in terms of design. Phones can be placed on them either vertically or horizontally to charge. The newer model comes in black colour with a gold accent. Whereas the older model sports a white colour paint job with a silver accent.
Additionally, it supports Qi wireless charging technology. It will work for almost every smartphone that supports wireless charging today. Now, the 100W charger has a protection layer that calibrates the current. All the while still retaining over-voltage, over-current and over-temperature protections. It can also detect foreign objects. It also has foreign object detection, something that the 80W charger also had.
Now, the newer one also features a dual-coil design and a dynamic fan. It runs quietly when required like its predecessor. Since the accessory uses Qi standard, it can charge almost every product with wireless charging support. However, only Mi 11 Pro, Mi 11 Ultra, and Mi MIX 4 can make use of the Ultra-Fast Wireless Charging Mode’. In simpler words, these phones can charge wirelessly at their maximum supported rates of 67W and 50W. Xiaomi also claims that the Mi MIX 4 with a 4,500mAh battery and 50W wireless charging support can charge fully within 28 minutes using the new Mi 100W Wireless Charging Stand.

As of now, there’s no official word on the availability of this charger in global markets.
