WhatsApp Edit Button: Here’s What To Expect
  • WhatsApp has begun testing the message edit button. The functionality was discovered in Android’s most recent beta version, implying that if it works as expected, the platform may soon make it available in a stable version. WaBetaInfo has published a screenshot of the feature, which shows the app displaying an “Edited” label on every message box to notify the recipient of changes.

It’s also unclear whether the messaging app will display the changed message’s time or date. According to the quoted source, the platform will only allow a user 15 minutes to modify a message, which seems reasonable given that this option is only available to users to repair errors and not to change the entire content.

However, it is unclear whether app will also include a feature that allows users to view all altered versions of a message, as the addition of the edit button will raise credibility concerns. More information regarding this feature is to be out soon. There is currently no word on when this functionality will be available in the stable version. It is visible in the Android 2.22.22.14 beta update version.

People currently only have the option of deleting and rewriting messages in the event of an error. However, the app displays a tag indicating that this communication was removed, which negates the purpose of having this capability. The other person is intrigued as to what the message could be.
