WhatsApp and other messaging apps have always been essential, but they got even more so over the last year as the Covid-19 outbreak kept us confined to our homes. It’s critical to have a trustworthy, speedy messaging service that you can use on a daily basis. One of the key reasons why Google “continues to boost its RCS capabilities,” as Android Police points out, is because of this.
WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging platforms in the world, and while it is extremely convenient, it does have some limits. For example, WhatsApp always reduces and shares high-resolution video clips as documents. However, this may soon change in the near future as an upcoming update may eventually bring in quality options for users to choose from.

WhatsApp New Feature Will Allow Users to Send High-Res Video
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp beta 2.21.14.6 for Android teases a feature that allows you to change the video’s standard quality before sending it. As of now, WhatsApp does not now allow you to adjust your video options. You can see that under the “Storage and data” tab. This is something that is likely to change in the near future. The latest beta version gives you three options for deciding how to compress the video you’re sending for upload: “Auto,” “Best Quality,” and “Data Saver.”

The “Auto” option is “recommended,” however it may simply compress the file over slow broadband connections. The “Data saver” option is for those who want to send videos but don’t want to finish their monthly data. The “Best quality” choice is something we should anticipate. For the time being, the only option to send high-resolution videos over WhatsApp is as an attached document. Users may ultimately be able to send a video directly from their galleries without losing quality. Even though if it takes more time than the other options to send, thanks to the new “Best quality” option.

For now, there is no way of knowing when this feature will be available in the stable version of WhatsApp. WhatsApp is working on it now, and it may be released shortly, but no date has been set. Android users will have to wait and see what happens. There is currently no information regarding this feature going out or in development for WhatsApp for iOS, so we’ll have to wait to hear more.
