Rich link previews are being tested by the instant messaging software, which appears to be a significant development. The company is also likely to be developing a new text status update interface for Android users, which will later release for the general public.

According to WABetaInfo, a WhatsApp beta tracker, the instant messaging app by Meta has been spotted testing rich link previews for text status updates, which will allow users to view webpage elements without tapping on them.
A screenshot purportedly obtained from the company for iOS beta version has been posted by WABetaInfo. The company may begin testing the same experience on Android and desktop in the near future.
WhatsApp Testing on New Status Updates
The exact date when rich link previews on WhatsApp status updates will be available to normal users is unknown. On iOS, the update has not yet been made available to beta testers. Nonetheless, the app’s history suggests that the upgrade will first confine to beta testers for some time.
The company launched rich link previews in conversations in 2017. Users began to see a preview of the link without clicking on it, which changed the experience.

For Android users, the company has begun testing a new text status update interface. WABetaInfo claims that the update is coming to WhatsApp for Android beta 2.22.11.13. The emoji, text, and background colour picker options are shifted from the bottom left to the top right of the screen. This is the same as WhatsApp for iOS, which has all of these choices in the top-right corner.

The new UI also includes a new caption view, which the company is testing in April for Android users. It emphasizes the receivers of your status updates and allows you to modify the audience for a certain status from all contacts to a specific group of contacts.
