Another WhatsApp scam is making the rounds on the chat network today. This time, an old WhatsApp fraud has resurfaced. Scammers are sending users messages claiming that they have won a lottery for Rs 25 lakh, which is obviously a ruse to fool people and take their hard-earned money. Scammers are utilising photographs of Amitabh Bachchan and the name Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) to make the scam appear genuine.

A message with a poster image is coming from the non-Indian number +92 306 0373744, claiming that the user has won Rs 25 lakh in a lottery. After then, the message instructs the user to phone 07666533352 and informs them that they have won the lotto.
The ad is accompanying by an audio clip that explains how to get the money transfer to the bank account. Of course, this is a ruse and should not be believed. Scammers have used similar tricks in the past as well to dupe users into stealing their financial details like bank account numbers and more. This is one of many ways that hackers use to fool users on WhatsApp.
