    Vivo Zen Patents: What More?
  • Vivo seems to be working on a new smartphone series, which is reportedly the Vivo Zen series. The company has filed for the patent of a smartphone with the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA). Moreover, this reveals the smartphone to come with a similar design to the iPod Classic.

Going by the leaked patent design, the physical clickwheel of the smartphone takes up half the front panel. The display takes up the other half, much like the iPod Classic. Furthermore, the smartphone seems to be on the thick side of things. Besides, no volume rockers or power buttons have been found in the patent designs.

However, for those wondering if this is Vivo working on their series of iPods, that is not true. This can be said as the CNIPA website has clearly stated that the new patent designs belong to a smartphone. Going by that, it can be interpreted that this smartphone design could be for a specific purpose. Another thing that can be said is that it maybe just one of those other designs which never make it to production and the ultimately, the market.

Going by the leaked patents of the new Vivo CNIPA listing, the smartphone will feature a metallic frame. Moreover, the front panel design is divided into two halves. While the top one is dedicated to the display, the lower portion is for the physical clickwheel. Coming to the clickwheel, it looks very basic with just four buttons.

Vivo Zen Patents Reveal iPod Like Design

Moreover, the second patent for the supposedly Vivo Zen series smartphone showcases a couple of things. It reveals a standard smartphone design alongside an all-screen front panel. Moreover, we can also see a punch-hole display which will house the selfie sensor. Additionally, there is a single rear camera sensor housed within a circular module.

However, from the looks of it and the back panel branding, the this seems to be the Vivo Zen series. Moreover, going by the simplicity of the device, it will most likely be an entry-level device by the company. Now, single rear camera sensors are not really seen much nowadays. Yes, the Realme C20 and Samsung Galaxy M01 Core definitely do come with those but, it is a handful of entry-level devices. This suggests the upcoming Vivo Zen to be an entry-level smartphone series.
