On Monday, Vodafone Idea launched its gaming service with Nazara Technologies. Through the Vi app, the service is said to provide over 1,200 Android and HTML5 mobile games in 10 categories. Prepaid and postpaid members may play games on Vi Games. While certain games need a membership, Vodafone Idea offers over 250 free games to all consumers.
Vi Games offers mobile games in Action, Fantasy, Arcade, Informal, Educational, Fun, Puzzles, Racing, Sporting, and Strategic. Disney-themed games include Big Hero 6 Bot Battle, Castle of Illusion, Ducktales Revisited, and Disney Kickoff.

Vodafone Idea’s game material is divided into Platinum, Gold, and Free.
Gold Games are offered through a Gold Pass for Rs. 50 for postpaid users or Rs. 56 for prepaid customers, suitable for 30 days. On the other hand, Platinum Games will be accessible through a Platinum Pass for Rs. 25 postpaid and Rs. 26 prepaid. However, the Vi app allows you to download Free Games for free.
Vodafone Idea intends to expand Vi Games to include social gaming and e-sports. The new service looks to boost ARPU and remain competitive against Airtel or Jio.

Avneesh Khosla, Chief Marketing Officer of Vodafone Idea, noted in a news release that gaming consumption had increased significantly in India. To make Vi a favoured location for severe and casual gamers, we want to construct a complete experience embracing most aspects of gaming.
Currently, Vi Games does not appear to provide any popular mobile games. However, it claims to have a wide choice of gaming material from different franchises in India.
According to FICCI-EY research, gaming in India will reach 500 million users by 2022. Furthermore, according to an independent Niko Partners research, India’s PC and mobile gaming income would hit $1.5 billion (approximately Rs. 11,500) by 2025.
Vodafone Idea has been losing money and gaining users for months. Telecom seems to be leveraging content to strengthen its standing and recruit new consumers.

For the first time last year, Vodafone Idea incorporated Vi Movies and TV into its main app to provide music and videos. In addition, for prepaid and postpaid consumers, the operator teamed with Hungama Music in December to provide free song and video downloads.
