Reliance Jio decided to discontinue two of its cheapest Jio Phone prepaid recharge packs of ₹39 and ₹69. These plans were removed from Jio’s official website in a quiet manner. The company also decided to take down the ‘Buy 1 Get 1 Free’ recharge offer out of the many offers. The move comes a day ahead of the launch of Jio Phone Next on September 10, 2021.

Rs 39, Rs 69 Recharge Plans
Reliance offers a ₹39 plan for Jio Phone which gives 100MB of daily data and a validity of 14 days. The plan also offers unlimited calls to any network and 100 SMS. Customers also get access to complimentary Jio apps. Similarly, the ₹69 plan offers 0.5GB of data per day, unlimited calls, 100 SMS per day, access to the Jio suite of apps, and 14 days of validity.
Both ₹39 and ₹69 recharge plans are now discontinued. There isn’t any clarity as to whether this was planned keeping in mind the launch of Jio Phone Next or due to the low popularity of the plan. It isn’t clear if the telecom network will introduce new plans to replace them.
Recently Jio introduced four new plans that come with a Disney+ Hotstar subscription. These include ₹499, ₹699, ₹888 and ₹ 2,599. The latter offers a validity of 365 days, 2GB of data per day, 100 SMS per day, and unlimited calling to any network. The Jio ₹499 plan offers unlimited voice calls, 3GB data per day, 100 SMS per day, and access to Jio apps. ₹666 prepaid plan offers a 56 days validity and brings unlimited voice calls, 3GB data per day, 100 SMS per day, and access to the Jio suite of apps. The Jio ₹888 plan offers 2GB of data per day, unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day, access to Jio apps and a free Disney+ Hotstar subscription.

Jio Phone Next Specs
The specifications of the Jio Phone Next aren’t officially out yet, however, leaks give a good view of the device. Jio Phone Next smartphone would run on Android 11 and will feature an HD display on a 5.5-inch screen. It will be powered by Qualcomm QM215 SoC and will be fitted with 2GB or 3GB RAM. The phone is also expected to offer 16GB or 32GB of internal storage. It will feature a rear camera of 13MP, and the front camera might be 8MP. It will also have a 2,500 mAh battery alongside dual-SIM support.
