Twitter has collaborated with India-based Razorpay to roll out the Tip-Jar feature for the app in India. India is one of the biggest markets for Twitter. To be specific, India is the third largest users of the micro-blogging platform after US and Japan. It is understandable why Twitter is rolling out these essential features in the Indian market.
The Tip Jar feature basically allows followers to tip individuals and organizations. Moreover, the tip is basically a token of appreciation from the followers. Additionally, Twitter has added support for this feature via a partnership with the Indian payments platform, Razorpay. Razorpay is widely used in the country and adding support for this is huge for the Indian market.

Moreover, the addition of Razorpay’s interface will allow Twitter users to make payments via multiple modes. Users can choose between UPI, credit cards, debit cards, wallet and much more with the Razorpay support. Also, one thing to note here is that Twitter does not take any cut from the tip jar feature. So, if you are tipping some content creator or public figure, that money is all his or hers.

The brand new Tip Jar feature basically allows Twitter users to tip individuals or organizations as a token of appreciation. The new tip jar feature is all for aiding content creators and influencers to monetize their account on the platform.

Twitter has introduced a button to select users who can now receive a tip directly from their followers. These select users can see the Tip Jar option and add it by tapping on ‘Edit Profile’. The select group of people includes public figures, content creators, journalists, experts and community leaders. It is basically Patreon for Twitter, to put things simply.
Twitter Tip Jar Feature: How To Use Razorpay For Receiving Tips
If you are one of the select users for the Tip Jar feature, this is how you use it. However, before getting into this, it is important to create a Razorpay account first. So, create a Razorpay account and then:
Step 1: Turn on the Tip Jar feature on Twitter, Allow Tips and click on Razorpay.
Step 2: Paste the custom suffix from your dashboard payment page which goes something like this: <pages.razorpay.com/yourcustomurl>. Copy this URL and this will get added to Tip Jar Advertisement.
Just two steps can allow you to get tips from your followers on Twitter. Moreover, one can easily customize the Payment Page URL as well by adding a suffix. Payments received from followers can be viewed in the Razorpay Dashboard.

Furthermore, followers can log in to their Twitter accounts and visit the creator’s profile. Now, all they have to do is tap on the ‘tips’ icon and choose Razorpay. The payment will directly go to the creator or influencer’s bank account.
