Just last month MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC went official for flagship-grade smartphones. Although many more are expecting to launch in the coming weeks – this new MediaTek Dimensity 8000 chipset teaser has just surfaced. The company has teased the chipset officially hinting at some of its detail. Now, reliable tipster, Digital Chat Station has received some important information regarding upcoming mid-range flagship smartphones.
According to him, the Realme GT Neo 3 and the Xiaomi Redmi K50 series smartphones, both will run on MediaTek Dimensity 8000 processor. Now, this looks like a natural choice considering it’s positioned to rival each other with their similarity in specs. Moreover, if we recall, their predecessors also offered similar specs with Snapdragon 870 SoC. This is the only information we have available right now. Let’s look at some of the newly teased features of the MediaTek SoC:

Dimensity 8000 Chipset Specs
According to the leaks, the Dimensity 8000 chipset will be based on TSMC’s 5nm architecture, unlike the Dimensity 9000. It has the latest 4nm manufacturing process. Furthermore, the chipset will have an octa-core design, with 4 Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.75 GHz and 4 Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz. Moreover, it should also be 22 per cent faster than the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset.

Furthermore, it will also come with QHD+ display support, with support for up to 165Hz refresh rate as well. The MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset is also expecting to support LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
In related news, according to the current Counterpoint study for smartphone chipset shipments from July to September 2021, MediaTek has a 40 per cent total market share. Whereas, Qualcomm has just a 27 per cent market share.
