Just recently, Qualcomm has announced their new chipset for flagship devices, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. During the event, the company also unveiled that Xiaomi will be one of the OEMs to feature the new chipset early on. Moreover, Xiaomi CEO, Lei Jun made the announcement at the Snapdragon Tech Summit 2021. As we know, the new chipset has a 4nm architecture and comes with a three-cluster design. In addition, it also claims that the new Snapdragon chip comes with a 20 per cent faster CPU and 30 per cent faster GPU while offering up to 30 per cent better efficiency.
Following the launch, several companies have confirmed the launch of smartphones with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. Here’s a list of all the companies that has confirmed to launch devices with the new Snapdragon chip.

Smartphones Confirmed to Feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 1
Qualcomm has already confirmed that several brands are working with the chipmaker to launch smartphones featuring the chipset. It includes phones like Black Shark, Honor, iQOO, Motorola, Nubia, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Redmi, Sharp, Sony Corporation, Vivo, Xiaomi, and ZTE. Meanwhile, some companies have also confirmed more details about their devices ahead of the launch.
Motorola, Realme, and Xiaomi
Motorola has confirmed that the Moto Edge X30 is coming with the the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. Moreover, it has gone a step ahead and revealed through a teaser posted on Weibo. According to the poster, the smartphone will be launched in China at 7:30pm CST Asia (5pm IST) on December 9, 2021.
Xiaomi also tweeted that the Xiaomi 12 as its first flagship to come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. The smartphone may also come alongside the rumoured Xiaomi 12X. Both may be upgradable to the company’s next-generation MIUI 13 out-of-the-box. Xiaomi posted a video teaser on Twitter that confirms the starting of mass production of the Xiaomi 12 series with the chip.

On the other hand, Realme has confirmed that the Realme GT 2 Pro will be featuring the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. It is the company’s most premium smartphone. The company has also confirmed that the device will launch in December itself. Although it is unknown if the Realme flagship will launch in India in December itself.
OnePlus, Oppo
According to the announcement, OnePlus 10 series will debut with Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon mobile chip. Rumours suggest that the devices will debut in China in January or February 2022. Whereas, Oppo is also among the companies to have confirmed the launch of its flagship series with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip.
Until then, we can wait and see which smartphone manufacturer becomes the first phone to feature the new SoC.
