The feature is available in the MIUI weekly beta channel. Xiaomi took a lot of time to implement this feature, and it is still not launched as it is in its final stages. Also, the company has now given the official name to it too. Now it will be known as the sidebar feature instead of the Smart toolbox.
The official name of the MIUI Smart toolbox feature
As already stated, the Smart toolbox feature is still under testing, and its name has already been shifted to the sidebar in just a few days. This feature is the clone of the Samsung Edge Panel. The sidebar has revealed its name via the MIUI SYSTEM UPDATES Telegram channel.

The latest moniker arrived through an update to the MIUI Security app, which bumps up the version to V5.8.1-211123. The name changing log mentions the latest name of the said feature plus it has fixed known bugs and improved overall performance.
Besides, no new addition has been made to the feature. But users can expect a few new inputs for the forthcoming sidebar feature in the coming days. Presently, the users can access features while playing games and even while playing videos. On the other hand, it is yet to see what all the company includes in the feature. Also, we will see that if the smart toolbox aka sidebar feature can select nine-panel at a time just like the Samsung edge panel or will it include other features.
