Tecno is planning to launch the Tecno Phantom Ultimate 2 smartphone, the company’s first-ever tri-fold smartphone. This handset appears to have a triple foldable screen that comes with a dual-hinge mechanism. This handset is the successor of Tecno Phantom Ultimate, which is a roll able smartphone. This was the first smartphone of its kind, which debuted at the Mobile World Congress 2024 in Barcelona, in February. Tecno boasts of its integration of TDDI technology in this foldable handset. This technology combines the touch sensor and display driver into a single chip. Thus, enhancing the touch responsiveness of this handset. Even though the size of Phantom Ultimate 2 is large, it is impressively thin, 11mm when folded.
Expected Specifications
As per Tecno, the Phantom Ultimate 2 will have the following specs:
A 6.48-inch screen cover display with a huge 10-inch LTPO OLED inner screen, 1620×2880 pixels, and a 4:3 aspect ratio. Techno claims to be using the thinnest battery cover ever seen on a smartphone, just 0.25mm. The company showcases the use of this tri-foldable Phantom Ultimate 2 in laptop mode, where the bottom half of the screen folds into a keyboard and a tent mode.
However, the company has not given any confirmation on the timeline of this handset hitting the market. So, lets wait for more updates from Tecno.
