Sony Xperia 5 III Receives IMDA Certification

Sony Xperia 5 III was launched back in April. However, the smartphone will most likely not go on sale until August. The smartphone has already been listed on the company’s official website. This reveals the key specifications of the smartphone.

Now, the smartphone has received IMDA certification. Noted tipster Mukul Sharma took to Twitter to reveal this piece of information today. Furthermore, the smartphone is listed as a 5G smartphone with Bluetooth, WiFi, NFC and GPS. Additionally, the smartphone is listed with the model number XQ-BQ72.

Price & Availability

The Sony Xperia 5 III price in India is expected to be around Rs. 49,999. Moreover, this is expected to be the price for the 8GB/128GB variant of the smartphone. This is just merely an assumption based on Sony’s pricing strategies so, it is to be taken with a pinch of salt. The smartphone will most likely come in the Black, Green and Pink color options.

The smartphone was launched way back in April this year. However, the launch dates and availability details of the upcoming flagship is still under wraps. Hopefully, we will hear more from the company about it.

The Sony Xperia 5 III was launched as an alternative to a DSLR for content creators. The smartphone has since become one of the most anticipated phone of this year. The good news is that it is listed on Sony’s official website with all the key specifications.

For starters, the smartphone will come with a handy 6.1 full-HD+ HDR OLED display¹ “powered by CineAlta”. Additionally, the display will come with a fast refresh rate of 120Hz. The display comes with a resolution of 2520 x 1080 pixels. Furthermore, the smartphone comes with a touch sampling rate of 240Hz. Also, the handset comes with IPX5/IPX8 water resistance rating alongside IP6X dust resistance rating.

On the processor front, the Sony Xperia 5 III will carry the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G SoC. Additionally, this flagship octa-core chipset is paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

For photos and videos, the Xperia 5 III features a triple rear camera setup. The setup includes three 12-megapixel Carl Zeiss sensors. On the front, the smartphone comes with an 8-megapixel selfie shooter. Additionally, the sensors come with a T coating over them. This allows users to take seamless 4K videos and capture stunning photos.

The Xperia 5 III packs a big 4500mAh battery along with 30W fast charging support. The smartphone also retains the conventional 3.5mm headphone jack. Also, the smartphone comes with Dolby Atmos for an immersive audio experience.
