Starting today, Sony is increasing PlayStation 5 prices in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. The company cited the “challenging economic environment, high inflation, and fluctuating exchange rates” as the reasons for raising the recommended retail price (RRP). Sony also indicates that PS5 price hikes could extend to select markets within the EMEA region, and it’s likely other major markets, including the US, could see similar increases.

In Europe, the standard PS5 Digital Edition will now retail at €499.99/£429.99 (roughly Rs 43,711) , up from the previous €449.99/£389.99.
In Australia, the PS5 with an optical disc drive will see a price jump, now starting at AUD 829.95 (roughly Rs 1,00,033), while in New Zealand, it will be priced at NZD 949.95 (roughly Rs 48,228). However, the PS5 Digital Edition will not see any price changes in these regions. Sony also clarified that the price of the upcoming PS5 Pro will remain unchanged.

Price Of Disc Edition
The PS5 disc edition will not see a price increase across Europe, but it will be priced higher in Australia and New Zealand.
In contrast, Sony is reducing the cost of its PS5 Disc Drive attachment. The new retail price for the accessory will be €79.99/£69.99 in Europe, and AUD $124.95/NZD $139.95 in Australia and New Zealand.
