With no confirmations on the launch date of the OnePlus 10 Pro in the US or even in India, it is already available in China. Its’ availability in China gives us a pretty good idea of what it offers and what we can expect. Now, before it comes out globally, many reviewers and creators have got their hands on this flagship smartphone. Among them is YouTuber Zack aka JerryRigEverything. We also know of the tests he puts on the smartphone. But this time around the smartphone gives out a pretty shocking result.
He puts the device through its paces in his durability test. Lo and behold! The OnePlus 10 Pro almost snaps in half during the bend test. This happens as he tries to push on the middle of the phone to try and bend it. In addition, the YouTuber puts the smartphone under the scratch and burning tests as he does so routinely. OnePlus 10 Pro Bend Test
As we know, the smartphone features a premium frosted glass build with a metal frame. Now, despite its premium build, the phone ends up almost snapping in half. However, in the video, we can see that the smartphone handles the multiple scratches and burns okay enough.
According to the YouTuber, the OnePlus 10 Pro holds well even at level 6 on the Mohs hardness scale. But it has deeper grooves at level 7. All of this is thanks to the Gorilla Glass Victus on top of the smartphone. The phone even has a water protective gasket for the SIM card slot. Moreover, the burn test results are also as usual. The AMOLED screen lasts up to 40 seconds before it gets a burn mark from the lighter by a direct flame.

As mentioned above, the only test OnePlus 10 Pro gives out a shocking result is the durability/bend test. From the video, you can see that the back cracks first when bending it from the front. Then, it snaps in the middle and goes dead. This result is shocking as most of the smartphones under this segment or even out of it are almost difficult to break like this. But this result of the smartphone snapping in half comes as a surprise and makes you wonder about its durability.
While the pressure test is quite extreme, it might not be as severe in day-to-day life unless you keep the phone in your back pocket and sit on it. Furthermore, the YouTuber in the video, says that the structural design of the OnePlus 10 Pro could be the reason behind it. As the battery is lengthwise across the phone, the side rails take the entire force of the snap.

It’s certainly not a good look for the OnePlus 10 Pro, which hasn’t yet made its global debut. But one should note that it is quite unlikely to see a bend like this via its users unless you sit on it with the phone in your back pocket. OnePlus didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment about the video or if it plans to make any changes to the OnePlus 10 Pro to make it more durable.
