According to several reports, Samsung will launch a series of new smartwatches this year. Moreover, the company will reportedly announce their Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 in Q2 of this year. The smartwatch will be announced as a successor to the Samsung Active 2 smartwatch. Tipster Mukul Sharma took to Twitter to reveal that the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 has received the Indian BIS certification as well. This definitely hints at an imminent launch of the smartwatch in India.
Additionally, other reports have suggested that the Galaxy Watch 4 will run on Android. This is unlike the previous smartwatches by the company which run on Tizen OS. Tizen OS is Samsung’s custom OS for their smartwatches. Moreover, the upcoming Samsung smartwatches will reportedly run on Android. Samsung uses their custom Tizen OS in their smartwatches.

The Galaxy Watch 4 also received the FCC certification earlier. The FCC listing revealed certain key features of the device. Additionally, the smartphone was listed with the model number of SM-885U on FCC.
Expected Specifications
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 is expected to come Bluetooth, NFC, Wi-Fi 2.4GHz/ 5GHz and various LTE Bands. Additionally, the FCC listing revealed the smartphone’s battery model to be EB-BR880ABY. Furthermore, there was also a mention of a wireless charger with the model number of EP-OR825. This hints at the upcoming watch to come with 5W wireless charging support.

Moreover, reports also suggest the Samsung smartwatch to come in two screen sizes. The two screen sizes will be that of 42mm and 46mm. The Samsung Active 2 smartwatch is expected to come in 40mm and 42mm sizes. Another report claims the watches to get rid of the non-invasive blood sugar measuring sensors.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Availability
The exact launch date of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 is not known as of now. However, the smartwatch will most likely go on sale in select markets starting August 11, as per leaks. Moreover, the Galaxy Watch 4 receiving the India BIS certifications suggests that the launch date is pretty near.
