The Resident Evil franchise has spanned over a decade now and has contributed majorly to the survival horror genre as we know it today. Resident Evil 7 brought back the franchise from quite literally the dead. This allowed Capcom to understand the true essence of the genre and revive two of their masterpieces – Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. These two games got remakes and that took the gaming community by storm. These three fan favourite games are now set to get next-gen upgrades.
Capcom has officially revealed and confirmed that the their Resident Evil 7, 2 and 3 are getting enhancements. These enhancements will basically revolve around graphically enhancing the games. Although these are already AAA titles we are talking about, they have aged, although like fine wine. Additionally, these next-gen upgrades are for the PS5, Xbox Series S and Series X.

Resident Evil 7, 2 & 3 Next-Gen Upgrades
An interesting thing to note here is that since the upgrades will be landing on the PS5 and PS4 consoles, users who already own the PS Plus Collection will have access to the upgrades for free. However, the exact roll out date of the next-gen upgrades is currently under wraps. They have been stated to arrive “later on this year”.

Besides, this means that users will get to toggle between Performance and Quality mode in these games now. These upgrades are to primarily bring out the actual potential of the PS5, from the looks of it.
While the Performance Mode basically prioritises frame rate, Quality Mode does the exact opposite. You get to see the best of a game in Quality Mode. These games are already visually stunning in their own ways. However, Capcom may be looking to taking that to a whole new level too alongside tweaking the controls a bit.
Additionally, the Dual Sense controller for the PS5 has triggers which the next-gen upgrades may put to good use. For now, this is all that can be said about the ResiR
