This isn’t the first time now, rumours and leaks of Redmi K50 are surfacing online. Although Xiaomi has not revealed anything specific about the smartphone as of now. But this time around rumours and leaks surrounding the Redmi K50 Pro+ has surfaced online. The upcoming Redmi K50 series will launch as a successor to the Redmi K40 series of smartphones. The K40 series launched earlier this year. It included the Redmi K40, Redmi K40 Pro, Redmi K40 Pro Plus and Redmi K40 Ultra. Now, in a recent leak, some of the specifications of the top-end Pro+ model have leaked.
According to the leak on Weibo, the Redmi flagship will pack Qualcomm’s next flagship processor, under the hood. This new supposed Snapdragon 898 SoC which is yet to enter the market as of now. From what we know, this flagship SoC is likely to launch in December, 2021 at the Qualcomm Summit. It is likely to launch in 8GB/ 12GB RAM options. Xiaomi is also said to pack a 5,000mAh battery inside the Redmi K50 Pro+.

Meanwhile, there is no mention of charging specs in the leaks. But from what the previous rumours also suggests this Redmi K50 Pro+ can have a 67W or 120W fast charging support. Although this still remains a mystery as of now. Earlier leaks hinted that the phone will come with 100W fast charging. The series is expecting to include the standard Redmi K50, a Pro variant, and a Pro Plus variant. Previous rumours also hinted that the phone could launch sometime in Q4 of 2021.

Furthermore, the tipster on Weibo also mentions that the Redmi K50 Pro+ will have a 108-megapixel camera sensor. The camera system will also include a telescopic zoom camera or a periscope camera. Xiaomi has used a 48-megapixel telephoto camera sensor in the past for its Mi smartphones. If it does happen, it will be an interesting choice, as Redmi’s are generally more affordable compared to other flagships.

Moreover, the K40 series of smartphones feature flagship-grade hardware. We can definitely expect to see some improvements over this series in the upcoming Redmi K50 series. Additionally, the K50 series will give tough competition to other smartphones in the Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 40,000 segment. These include the Realme X7 Max, OnePlus 9R and more. We will know more about the Redmi K50 Pro+ specs as it nears it launch soon.
