Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi has recently teased their Redmi K50 Gaming Edition a lot via teasers and posters. The brand does it once again and we get to know a piece of new information on its specifications. At this point, we know a lot about the smartphone’s specifications. This time, the brand backs up all the leaked information by official unveiling the smartphone’s camera specs ahead of its February 16, 2022, launch.

Redmi K50 Gaming Edition can be charge up in just 17 minutes!
According to a post on Weibo, Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing confirmed the battery and charging specifications of the upcoming Gaming Edition phone. As mentioned, the gaming smartphone from Redmi will pack a 4,700mAh battery and it will support 120W fast charging. The smartphone can fully charge (from zero to 100 per cent) in around 17 minutes.
Weibing also claims Redmi K50 Gaming Edition is the fastest-charging smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. However, the post also mentions that the 17-minutes charge time is possible when the fast-charging acceleration mode is manually on in the device.

Furthermore, Redmi announced a partnership with multiple-time F1 World Championship-winning team Mercedes-AMG Petronas. Although the post did not share much detail about the partnership. But hints that a special Redmi K50 Mercedes F1 smartphone could be in the works.
What we know so far
The upcoming Redmi K50 Gaming Edition will come with a 6.67-inch OLED display. Additionally, this display will offer a fast 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass protection on top as well. In terms of software, the handset will run on Android 12 with the MIUI 13 custom skin on top.

Under the hood, the smartphone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. This octa-core chipset will also be backed by a VC Colling area of 4860mm2 for better performance. The smartphone will pack a 4,700mAh battery. This rated battery capacity will be paired with 120W fast charging support as well.
