The Redmi K40 series is now out in China. However, it looks like the device will launch globally as a Poco 5G phone. It is reportedly on a listing found on a certification website. A report is suggesting that it may not launch as a Redmi phone in other regions. Because a phone with Poco branding with the same model number is surfacing online. However, this is not the first time the company is rebranding its phone to a Poco.

The information is based on an IMDA (Infocomm Media Development Authority) listing. It shows us the M2012K11AG (global Redmi K40 variant) certified as a POCO smartphone. Moreover, the listing reveals the phone will come with 5G connectivity, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and NFC, which are expected features.

Redmi K40 Specifications
The K40 is confirmed to feature a 6.8-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. It will feature the smallest-ever hole-punch camera ever seen on a smartphone if Redmi CEO Lei Jun is to be believed. Previous leaks have told us that the vanilla K40 will run a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset. The vanilla Redmi K40 may come with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage.

The Redmi K40 will come with four rear camera modules, but we don’t know more about its exact configuration. We’re probably looking at a 64MP primary sensor, an ultra-wide-angle lens, a macro lens, and a depth sensor. Connectivity features on both phones will include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C port. It is tipped to offer a 4,500mAh battery and runs on Android 11 based on MIUI 12 or MIUI 12.5 on top.
