Xiaomi has recently launched its Redmi 10 in global markets. Now, the Redmi 10 Prime is making rounds of the internet a lot recently. Xiaomi has also teased the smartphone quite a lot recently hinting at its launch and specs. However, in a recent tweet, the company confirmed the phone can power on the MediaTek Helio G88 SoC. Moreover, the phone could also be a rebrand of Redmi 10.

The company has teased the launch date for the device via their Twitter handle. Going by this piece of information, we can assume that the Redmi 10 Prime launch date in India is set for September 3, 2021, at 12 noon.
Even Manu Kumar Jain has tweeted an image to confirm that MediaTek Helio G88 will power the Redmi 10 Prime. The executive also mentions that the new phone will be a “significant upgrade” over the Redmi 9 Prime and Redmi 9 Power. Redmi 10 Prime will launch as a rebranded version of the global Redmi 10 in India. We can expect the upcoming smartphone will feature a 6.5-inch full-HD+ display. In addition, the display will come with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. We will also be seeing a 90Hz refresh rate on an AdaptiveSync display.
On the processor front, the Redmi 10 Prime is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Helio G88 SoC. The octa-core chipset will pair up with the ARM Mali-G52 MC2 GPU. The processor and GPU are coupled with 6GB of RAM along with 128GB of internal storage. Further, the internal storage will also be expandable via a microSD card slot.

For photos and videos, the smartphone will most likely feature a quad rear camera setup. The setup will include a 50-megapixel primary sensor along with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor. We will also see two 2-megapixel sensors for depth and macro shots, respectively. At the front, the device will feature an 8-megapixel selfie shooter. The Redmi 10 Prime will most likely pack a big 5000mAh battery along with 18W fast charging and 9W reverse charging support. We can also expect to see a side-mounted fingerprint scanner on the handset.
In terms of pricing, the phone’s price is currently under wraps. The phone is expecting to sit below the Redmi Note 10, which is available at ₹13,999. The Redmi 10 Prime will likely be priced between Rs 10,000 to ₹12,000 in India.
