Realme finally confirms the launch date of the rumour mill favourite Realme GT Neo 2. After weeks of rumours and leaks, the phone is launching on September 22, 2021, in China. To recall, this upcoming phone comes as a successor to the Realme GT Neo launched last year. Meanwhile, the latter launched as a rebrand under the moniker Realme X7 Max in India.

However, the company has also mentioned that there will be no X-series continuation after Realme X7 Max. We can expect the Realme GT Neo 2 to launch with the same moniker in India. Here’s a look at the phone’s expected specifications and design.
Realme GT Neo 2 launch date confirmed
Courtesy of tipster Mukul Sharma, we have an official teaser poster mentioning the date and time of the launch of the upcoming phone. Although the teaser post does not confirm any details of the device ahead of the launch. Realme is expected to launch the device later this year in India. There is no word on the Indian launch timeline at the moment.
According to the poster, it is confirmed to launch in China on September 22, 2021. It will launch at 2 PM local time (11:30 AM IST). This other poster shows off Realme GT Neo 2 as a sleek-looking phone with curved edges.

Thanks to the various leaks, we have quite an idea as to what to expect in terms of specs. It can sport a 6.62-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it will be powered by the Snapdragon 870 SoC and it will be offered with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The handset will likely ship with Android 11-based Realme UI 2.0.
On the processor front, the device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC which will be offering 5G connectivity to users. The octa-core flagship chipset will be coupled with at least 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

Furthermore, optics-wise, Realme GT Neo 2 will feature a 64MP primary camera along with an 8MP wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro lens. At the front, the phone gets a 16MP camera for selfies. Lastly, the phone reportedly packs a 5,000mAh battery that should support either 50W or 65W fast charging.
