Realme 9 series will launch in India in 2022. This information comes from the event launching realme Pad alongside the Realme 8s and Realme 8i. Although the latter two smartphones join the existing Realme 8 series lineup. Many are still awaiting the successor to the series. Meanwhile, many assumed these new additions as fillers before the successor’s launch. However, it seems like that is not the case.

Realme has confirmed that the Realme 9 series will not launch this year in India. At the Realme 8s launch event, the company said that the upcoming series will launch in 2022. Furthermore, they said that the upcoming mid-range series from Realme will feature a “fantastic mainstream processor”. As expected, details about the processor were not shared.

Wondering as to what could be the reason for this delay? Well, it could be due to component shortages, just like many other companies. However, no one can be sure until the company confirms. Whereas, it could also be due to the fact they want to bring something better with the Realme 9 series. The company did not share any timeline of the launch. However, we can expect the Realme 9 series to debut in Q1 2022, which is between January and March.
According to previous leaks, Realme 9 is likely to feature a punch-hole design with narrow bezels. It can also have a side-mounted fingerprint reader for secure authentication of biometric data. On the rear, there will be a quad camera setup. The phone is tipped to bear a 6.5-inch Full-HD+ (1080×2400 pixels) Super AMOLED screen with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and possibly, a 90Hz or 120Hz refresh rate.

Furthermore, we can expect Realme 9 might sport a quad rear camera module comprising a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 5MP macro shooter, and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies and video calling, a 32MP front-facing snapper. As of now, there is no information regarding the official pricing and availability of the Realme 9 smartphone. However, considering the rumoured specifications, it may be priced at around Rs. 16,500 in India.
