Realme has a bunch of devices under its sleeve for the coming days. These include the Realme Narzo 50A, Realme GT Neo 2, successor to the Realme GT Neo, and more. The company is also reportedly working towards introducing a device under the Realme 8 series of devices in India. Moreover, Realme India and MediaTek have taken to Twitter to give subtle hints at this particular smartphone. Further, in the process, the upcoming smartphone’s key specifications have also been revealed. Now, from the looks of it and analysing the tweets, the upcoming smartphone is most likely the Realme 8i. However, it could be the Realme 8S as well as both the devices have recently been confirmed to launch in India soon.
Going by MediaTek India’s tweet, we can expect the upcoming Realme 8i to be powered by the MediaTek Helio G96 SoC. Besides, recently, Realme India tweeted about how their Realme 8 series of devices is going to get even faster. Currently, the Realme 8 series is powered by the MediaTek Helio G95 SoC. So, if we take that into consideration, the Helio G96 definitely seems like the next step forward for the brand.

Now, if this is indeed the Realme 8i, then the other specs in the tweet will belong to it as well. MediaTek India has teased the device and revealed the key specs. Going by the tweet, the upcoming smartphone will sport a 120Hz fast refresh rate display. In addition, the handset will feature 108-megapixel primary rear camera setup. We will also be seeing the MediaTek HyperEngine 2.0 Lite gaming tech on the device for enhancement of gaming experience.
The device has appeared in a bunch of different leaks recently. We know quite a bit about the device already. Going by that, here is a quick rundown of what to expect from Realme 8i specs.
Realme 8i: What to expect?
The Realme 8i is expected to feature a 6.59-inch FHD+ display. In addition, the display will also come with a fast 120Hz refresh rate alongside a punch-hole display design. Under the hood, the smartphone will be powered by the MediaTek Helio G96 SoC. Further, the octa-core chipset pairs up with the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. The processor and GPU will be coupled with 4GB of RAM and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage. Additionally, the internal storage of the device will also be expandable via a microSD card slot.

On the software front, the upcoming handset will run on Android 11 with the Realme UI 2.0 custom skin on top. For photos and videos, the smartphone will come with a triple rear camera setup. The setup will include a 108-megapixel primary rear camera sensor. Now, the other two sensors will come with two 2-megapixel sensors for depth and macro shots, respectively. The handset will come with a thickness of 8.6mm and weigh 194 grams. Lastly, the device is expected to pack a 5000mAh battery.
