Upcoming iPads Might Delay: Here’s Why

According to prior reports, the new iPads were about to go on sale in October with significant enhancements like a new base model’s design and the introduction of the Apple M2 chip in the Pro model. However, a fresh report from Digitimes asserts that power shortages in China’s Sichuan province may have an impact on the production of upcoming iPads, which may delay the introduction of the new models, which is to happen in October.

Upcoming iPads Might Delay: Here’s Why

According to a report from iMore, China’s Sichuan province is experiencing extremely high temperatures, and it appears that 19 cities in the region have had their factories shut down. According to earlier rumours, Apple might be delaying the release of iPadOS 16 by a month. Which might have hinted to a somewhat delayed iPad launch this year. The new models, though, appear to be worth the wait, whenever they do.

For instance, a pair of supposedly leaked CAD renderings of the new iPad 2022 show the tablet will reportedly feature wider bezels on all four sides, a flatter form, and a larger screen in what appears to be the model’s most significant cosmetic change in years. Apple might also replace the Lightning port with the far more functional USB-C port.

The current Apple iPad Pro 11 2021 was out in early 2021 with the Apple M1 chip; the iPad Pro 2022 is to receive the new Apple M2 chip that drives the MacBook Air M2.
