Poco M6 5G India Launch Date Revealed: Expected Price, Specs

Poco has confirmed the launch of a new budget smartphone in India called the Poco M6 5G. Furthermore, the new phone will be the second entrant in the Poco M6 series, which currently includes the Poco M6 Pro 5G.

Poco M6 5G To Launch On December 22 In India

Poco India has announced the launch of the Poco M6 5G in India on December 22 at 12PM. The company teased the release on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption “The Real 5G Disrupter.”

The phone will be exclusively available on Flipkart in the country, with the company claiming it will be the most affordable 5G smartphone ever.

The teaser image also shows the Poco M6 5G design with a dual camera setup and an LED flash with a large camera island on the back. The phone has a purple colour on the back with a shiny pattern with power buttons and volume rockers on the right.

Furthermore, the display has a teardrop notch on the front and a 50-megapixel AI primary camera on the back. According to tipster Kacper, the Poco M6 5G will be a rebrand of the recently released Xiaomi Redmi 13C 5G.

Expected Price And Specifications

Given the Poco M6 5G is likely to be a rebrand of the Redmi 13C 5G, it will sport a 6.74-inch IPS LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. Moreover, the display will have a peak brightness of 600 nits and Gorilla Glass for protection

The MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ could power the phone paired with up to 8GB of RAM. It will run on MIUI 14 based on Android 13 with up to 256GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 1TB via a microSD card slot.

For optics, the phone will have a 50-megapixel primary camera with a secondary AI lens. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel camera for taking selfies.

The Poco M6 5G will pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W charging but could ship with a 10W adapter in the box. For connectivity, it will have Wi-Fi, 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-C and side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

It is likely to have a price of less than Rs.10,000, according to reports, and will compete against the likes of the Realme C67 5G and the Lava Yuva Storm 5G. The phone will be available in two colours: Purple and Black.
