An iPhone user has always taken pride in their Apple device. Often Gen Z is flaunting it as though they are a part of the iPhone cult. Sometimes, it’s not the GenZ but the millennial treating the iPhone like some superior device to Android. Have you ever wondered what makes them so loyal? Is it the Apple ecosystem, the camera, or just a status symbol? And in recent times, has that love started to fade, or is it stronger than ever?
To find out, we asked 100 iPhone users what they really think about their devices. The responses were unexpected, amusing, and, at times, brutally honest. Let’s go into what they had to say!

Who Are Using iPhones Anyway?
Let’s be honest, iPhones do not quite belong to the budget category. So, one needs a huge investment to get an Apple phone or, should I say, to become an iPhone user.
Well, 73 per cent of our respondents who had iPhones are in corporate jobs. Corporate professionals do have the purchasing power. These folks have paychecks that can handle the splurge, depending on their lifestyle and expenses.
Category | Percentage | Comments |
---|---|---|
Corporate Jobs | 73% | People with good salaries who can afford an iPhone. |
Self-Employed | 10.8% | People who work for themselves and can afford an iPhone. |
Students | 12.2% | Dependent |
Unemployed | 1.4% | Between jobs or aren’t working so managing expenses only on savings |
Other | 2.6% | NA |
Adding the 10.8 per cent of people here who are self-employed could afford to get an iPhone. Not so surprising, is it?
Here is where it gets interesting. A surprising chunk of people using iPhones belong to the student category. Yes, they don’t have a source of income. Yet getting an iPhone wasn’t a big deal for them. So, who is footing the bill for them? Probably, you guessed it right!

Why People Chose iPhone?
We candidly asked people why they loved or chose their iPhones. Guess what? We found some interesting insights and caught a few funny bones!
“✋ Bored from android, so tried iPhone.”
The actual result was a mix of a few things that people strongly felt. Well, to speak the truth, here are some of the main reasons why people prefer the iPhone over the Android:
The iOS User Experience Is WOW!
Our insights on iPhone users gave a clear victory to the iOS experience. The seamless integration between hardware and software makes everything from swiping to multitasking feel effortless. iOS is downright delightful to use.
Since its debut in 2007, iOS evolved from a simple, gesture-based system like think pinch-to-zoom and no app store to a powerhouse OS with multitasking, Siri, and a polished App Store in 2009. Over the years, it has introduced features like Night Shift (iOS 9, 2015) and widgets (iOS 14, 2020). It has been consistent with that signature “it just works” vibe. Except when it autocorrects “duck” to something else entirely (kidding!).
“Because there’s something about a half eaten apple I can’t get with an android!”

Peer Pressure
Oh, this one is a classic! It’s all about keeping up with the trend. If your friends are all iPhone-ing, you don’t want to be the odd one out with a different vibe. Bet you heard stuff like, “I just wanted to be in the group chat without the shade!”.
“I am embedded within the apple ecosystem”
iPhone Hai, Toh Ek Standard Hai!
There’s this notion that owning an iPhone signals a certain status. It’s not just a phone. It is a lifestyle flex. And clearly, too many people love to flex it. Including students and well people who are not working currently. People love the prestige that comes with flashing that Apple logo- whether they admit it or not!
“Because may be GF mil jaaye ❤️”
Trust In Apple’s Security And Privacy Offerings
Apple has got a solid reputation in the case of Privacy. People feel secure knowing their selfies and secrets aren’t floating around some shady server. With features like Face ID, encrypted iMessage, and App Store in the system, people trust that their sensitive data isn’t out in the open on the internet. It is something that even Android users will secretly envy. Privacy is sexy, apparently.

Hands Down, Stunning Camera Quality
The iPhone camera is a game-changer. And to date, there have been rarely a few brands who could match it, let alone beat it! It’s not about how many features or AI integrations it gives you. It’s just the pure joy of a great quality picture that matches an expensive DSLR lens- yes, that’s a real flex!
Overall, we can say that a combination of factors worked when people chose the iPhone. The most relevant ones remaining are the iOS experience, social influences, security and camera quality.
What Could Apple Improve: From Real iPhone User, Not Tech Gurus!
Sure, people can’t stop gushing about their iPhones, but secretly, there are a few things that they wish were better in iPhones. So let’s spill them out today because, dear Apple, your users have a lot to say!
Need Battery Life That Lasts
An overwhelming portion of iPhone users complain about the battery life that the iPhone offers. It is simply meh. One good thing that Apple could do for iPhone users is, of course, make the device compatible with a C-type charger like the rest of the world. But that’s just the start! But the bummer? An iPhone user does not wish to manage their life around their iPhone’s battery life. It’s a limitation Apple still has time to work on.

iPhone User Struggles With Cross-OS Compatibility
Another thing iPhone users struggle with if they have peers using non-Apple devices is connectivity issues. They can’t swiftly Airdrop a cute picture to any friend unless they are using an iPhone, too. So, sharing files with Android, Windows, or any other OS becomes a task they would rather avoid.
Dissatisfaction With Speaker Quality
A phone is supposed to perform in case of calls, playing media, recording voice and so on. Unexpectedly, for 7.5 per cent of users, the iPhone could not deliver that. So, they wish it would be great if the speaker quality could justify the price they paid for the device.
Durability Concerns Among iPhone Owners
This was a surprising finding we had for the iPhone. Apple has long marketed its devices as the gold standard in durability- both in hardware and software. The body design is so elaborately marketed every year when they launch in their Apple Event. Last year, it was about aerospace-grade titanium. This year, they launched the iPhone 16e with durable aerospace‑grade aluminium.
Yet, a notable number of users aren’t entirely convinced. Despite Apple’s claims, some have experienced body damage, raising questions about the iPhone’s physical resilience.

Wish There Were No App Limitations
Not many people complained about App limitations but it was still worth mentioning. There are certain limitations you might face in iOS while using common apps. For example, if you wanted two WhatsApp accounts on an iPhone, there is no direct way to do it. Android users do not face that problem. All in all, an average iPhone user wishes to have more functionality, customisations and less restrictions.
No Head Phone Jack!
Another problem raised by a few iPhone users is the missing headphone jack. It has been over eight years since Apple moved on to a newer technology of wireless earbuds, but their users didn’t. At least some of them. Yes, we still do love the feeling of wired earphones, so it doesn’t hurt to have the option, at least.

Does An iPhone User Regret It?
Now, let’s answer the main question! We have always wondered if an average iPhone user regrets it. Now, we have the answer!
No, Thankfully!
It is not the end of the world for Apple. The majority of the respondents were completely satisfied and happy with their iPhones. And a whopping 48.6 per cent don’t regret buying an iPhone despite the challenges.
There Is A Situationship!
Some of our respondents just chose to say, ‘It’s complicated’ rather than explaining the whole doldrums of being an iPhone user. The mixed feelings arise from issues like storage limitations and the problems we have mentioned above. One iPhone user said:
“No Regrets, but not like it’s the only smartphone one should buy”
Teeny Tiny Regret
Lastly, there are people who switched from Android to Apple with high hopes, but they ended up high and dry. Having themselves locked into the Apple ecosystem is not what they fancy.

Final Verdict of An iPhone User!
In the end, we can say that the iPhone is not overrated! People love their iPhones for a lot of reasons! It surely gives them a premium experience, a professional level camera, along with Privacy and Security. Not to forget the status quo. Overall, iPhone users are more likely to recommend buying iPhones to other people.
