OPPO Pad Goes Official in China: Everything You Need To Know

  • For quite some time now, reports and rumours have surfaced online suggesting that the Oppo Pad is in the works. But now, you don’t have to wait long the company has launched its first-ever tablet in China alongside the Oppo Find X5 series. From what we are seeing so far, it looks like it putting itself out as an iPad rival and the brand is offering the necessary hardware to do so.

    Moreover, it comes with a high-res 120Hz display, a flagship Snapdragon chipset, dual cameras, and a software experience optimized for large screens. Here’s everything you need to know about the Oppo Pad.

    Price, Availability

    Oppo Pad comes in three RAM + storage configurations. The 6GB + 128GB base variant has a price tag of CNY 2,299 ( roughly Rs. 27,500). Whereas, the higher-end 6GB+256GB and 8GB + 256GB variants will retail at CNY 2,699 ( roughly Rs. 32,250) and CNY 2,999 ( roughly Rs. 38,800) in China.

    Furthermore, Oppo Pad is now up for pre-orders and will go on sale starting March 3, 2021. It will be available in three colourways — black, purple, and a special edition silver variant. There is currently no word on whether the company plans to launch the Oppo Pad globally or whether it will arrive in India or not.

    Oppo Pad: Specifications

    With an 11-inch WQXGA display, the tablet offers a 2,560×1,600 pixel resolution, 16:10 aspect ratio, and a 120Hz refresh rate. It also has up to 480 nits brightness, 2048-level intelligent backlight, and TÜV Rheinland low blue light certification.

    Under the hood, the OPPO Pad comes powering on a Snapdragon 870 processor. It is paired with up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB onboard memory. Whereas, on the software front, the device runs on Android 11-based ColorOS 12 for tablets.

    Furthermore, optics-wise, Oppo Pad sports a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel selfie shooter. It also features support for USB Type-C audio, Quad speakers, and Dolby Atmos. In terms of battery, the tablet comes with an 8,360mAh battery with support for 33W SuperVOOC fast charging.

    Oppo Pad has an AG matte back panel with a dual-tone design, where a strip of text saying “Oppo” runs along the left side. But what makes it more interesting is OppoPencil support. Now, this stylus supports 4096 pressure points, paper-like smooth gliding, magnetic charging (much like the Apple iPad), and other cool features. It also has a keyboard case that supports shortcuts and quick screenshot features. In terms of pricing, it has a price tag of CNY 499 ( roughly Rs. 6,000) and the keyboard case is priced at CNY 399 ( roughly Rs. 4,800).
